SUV shot on Stevenson Expressway

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - An SUV was shot on the Stevenson Expressway (I-55) early Saturday on the South Side.

The shooting happened about 1:40 a.m. in the northbound lanes near Damen, according to Illinois State Police. No people were injured.

Inbound traffic was shut down for about 15 minutes as troopers canvassed the roadway for shell casings. Police have not tracked down the shooter.

A night earlier, a call of shots fired on the Dan Ryan shut down traffic on that expressway for about three hours.
