Two suspects arrested in Round Lake 2023 shooting that left teen dead
ROUND LAKE, Ill. - Two suspects, including a 17-year-old boy, are in custody after a shooting in Round Lake in October 2023 left a teenager dead, authorities said.

What we know:
Round Lake police responded to a homicide at 8:22 p.m. on Oct. 4, 2023, in the 500 block of Sycamore Drive.
When officers arrived, they found the victim, 17-year-old Chad Greenenwald, with gunshot wounds in a parked vehicle.
Authorities said the shooting occurred during an altercation involving multiple individuals who approached Greenenwald on foot.
Greenenwald was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. No suspects were present when police arrived.
After a lengthy investigation, Round Lake detectives, with assistance from several agencies, including the FBI, identified two suspects.
Homicide Arrests :
Demarion Gibert, 20, and Damone Gibert, 17, both of Round Lake Beach, were identified as suspects in the shooting.

The Lake County State’s Attorney reviewed the case and issued arrest warrants for both suspects on charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery.
Authorities said Damone, although a juvenile, is being charged as an adult.
Round Lake detectives and the FBI's Violent Crime/Fugitive Task Force arrested both suspects Wednesday in the 800 block of Richard Brown Boulevard in Volo, Illinois.
What's next:
Both Demarion and Damone are both due to appear in Lake County First Appearance Court.
Further details on their charges and potential sentencing haven't been released.
