Video shows shots fired by police at vehicle in Old Town
Chicago's police oversight agency released video of an officer-involved shooting that occurred back in October.
CHICAGO - New video was released on Wednesday showing a police officer firing shots at a vehicle in Old Town during an October incident.
The shooting occurred around 6:50 p.m. on Oct. 13 in the 300 block of West Division Street, according to Chicago police.
Officers had attempted a traffic stop after receiving a report of a person with a gun.
During the stop, the occupants of the vehicle ignored police commands and fled, striking a police vehicle, police said.
Officer-involved shooting on Near North Side under investigation: COPA
The Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) is investigating an officer-involved shooting on the city's Near North Side.
An officer fired a shot at the fleeing vehicle, which was later recovered in the 100 block of West North Avenue.
A person of interest was taken into custody, authorities said.
One officer was taken to a hospital for observation. No other injuries were reported.
The Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) continues to investigate the incident.
