Walgreens to open 56 neighborhood clinics in Chicago area
CHICAGO (AP) - The Walgreens drugstore chain is opening more than 50 neighborhood health clinics across the Chicago region.
The 56 locations of the Advocate Health Care clinics cover eight counties: Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will.
Patients at the walk-in clinics will be able to receive physicals, vaccinations and travel immunizations, as well as treatment for common injuries and illnesses.
Care will be provided by nurse practitioners and medical assistants.
A kickoff event is planned for Wednesday morning in Downers Grove.
