Watch: Dad dragged under vehicle after 9-year-old puts car in reverse

TOLEDO, Ohio - An Ohio dad was hospitalized and is now facing criminal charges after his 9-year-old son put a vehicle in reverse and dragged his father under the car.

According to WTVG, police say the father, 36-year-old Clejuan Williams of Toledo, was reportedly intoxicated and teaching his child how to drive. Dramatic video shows the moment when his son put the car in reverse, dragging his father under the car as it rolled out of the driveway and hit a pole.

Police said Williams told his son to press down on a pedal and, not knowing which one, the son pressed down on the gas pedal.

Williams’ neighbor said he’s recovering in the hospital. He told him a different story about what happened that day. Williams told his neighbor he was not trying to teach his son how to drive – he said he was trying to get his keys back when the accident happened.

Police say he’s facing charges of wrongful entrustment of motor vehicle and endangering children.

"I just want to bring awareness that this could happen to anybody," his neighbor told Storyful.
