Chicago crime: 2 teens arrested after West Town stabbing left man critically injured

Two teens have been arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred last year in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood.

The two teen boys, ages 13 and 16, face charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery for their alleged roles in the November 2024 stabbing of an 18-year-old man.

The attack occurred on Nov. 14, 2024, in the 0-100 block of North Western Avenue. Authorities reported that the victim sustained critical injuries in the incident.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested the teens in the 4100 block of West Wilcox Street.

Both were charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder and one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

What we don't know:

Details about the stabbing remain unclear, including the circumstances leading up to the attack. Due to their ages, the suspects’ identities have not been disclosed. Information on the victim’s current condition has also not been made available.
