Woman, 20, fatally struck by Metra train while jogging in Mokena

MOKENA, Ill. - A 20-year-old woman who was jogging in Mokena was fatally struck by a Metra train Friday afternoon.

The woman was jogging south across the tracks on South Schoolhouse Road when the train blew its horn.

The jogger hesitated, but proceeded to cross, Metra said. 

The train put on its emergency breaks, but the woman ended up being struck and killed.
