Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter wins 2024 Heisman Trophy
The best two-way player perhaps college football has ever seen is now one of one.
University of Colorado defense back and wide receiver Travis Hunter won the 2024 Heisman Trophy, taking the title of college football's most outstanding player.
Hunter won the award over the other three finalists: Boise State's record-setting running back Ashton Jeanty, Oregon Duck and Big Ten champ Dillon Gabriel and Miami superstar quarterback Cam Ward.
In the final voting, Hunter earned 552 first-place votes.
Hunter certainly earned the Heisman. He earned nearly every other award. He was the AP College Football Player of the Year, while winning the Walter Camp, Chuck Bednarik, Fred Biletnikoff, Lott Trophy and Paul Hornung Awards in 2024.
In 2024, Hunter caught 92 passes for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns, leading the the Big 12 Conference in receptions and touchdowns. On defense, Hunter intercepted four passes and broke up 11 more.
Hunter is the second Colorado player since former Chicago Bears running back Rashaan Salaam won the Heisman Trophy in 1994.
