New Illinois law will effectively end immigrant detention

Illinois will effectively end immigrant detention and further restrict local law enforcement’s ability to cooperate with federal immigration authorities under a plan Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed into law Monday.

Tornado watches through Saturday evening as severe weather batters Chicago area again

Tornado warnings were issued for a dozen cities and towns in the Chicago suburbs on Saturday, including Bradley, Manteno, Peotone, Lansing and Bourbonnais. Tornado sirens briefly blared in parts of Chicago Saturday afternoon, but a tornado warning was allowed to expire after rotation clouds passed over the North and Lower West sides of the city.

It's going to be a cool and dry week ahead in Chicago and the suburbs. Monday, April 12, will be partly sunny with highs in the low 60s and winds gusting to 35 mph. A dry cold front will pass Monday night. 

T-storms, lightning heading into Chicago area Wednesday afternoon

LIGHTNING & THUNDER: Storms are heading towards the Chicago area this evening. The areas most likely to get hit are suburbs west of Chicago including Elgin, Aurora, Joliet and Kankakee. Communities along the lakefront could be impacted as well.
