The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago urged residents to conserve water ahead of the expected heavy rainfall.

Scattered showers are expected across the Chicago area today. 

Reasonable tracks for the end of the week range from west toward Mexico or Texas to north toward the Florida Panhandle.

Expect rain to start falling by Sunday afternoon, with conditions deteriorating as a potent weather system approaches.

Owners and rafters of French Broad Adventures are also the swift-water rescue team at the Walnut Volunteer Fire Department. The Hampton family spent 15 days on the river rescuing people after Helene's deadly flooding.

Saturday will bring pleasant weather with dry conditions and light winds. 

The weekend looks nice as far as temperatures are concerned, but it'll be rainy by Sunday.

Chicago is set to enjoy mild and dry weather today, with temperatures expected to reach a pleasant 54 degrees under mostly clear skies.
