Suspended Spanish soccer federation president Luis Rubiales has resigned from his post after kissing a player on the lips without her consent in a scandal which overshadowed Spain winning the Women's World Cup for the first time.

FIFA said Rubiales is removed from soccer duties for 90 days “pending the disciplinary proceedings opened" against him.

The federation did not say when Carmona’s father died or give a cause of death. It also did not say exactly when Carmona was informed about her father's death or who told her.
