CUB: $38 million ComEd settlement falls short

Keep an eye on your ComEd statement. A credit on next year's bill is tied to the ComEd bribery scheme involving former Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan. The Illinois Commerce Commission approved a $38 million settlement after the utility company admitted in federal court it paid more than $1 million in bribes to members of Madigan's inner circle. The settlement works out to about $5 per customer, which one Illinois group says is not enough.
