World's first 'smart highway' to be built in Michigan

A stretch of I-94 between Ann Arbor and Detroit will soon become the world's first "smart highway." The new technology would allow vehicles to operate more efficiently without the driver's help. Using sensors that most newer vehicles already have, towers along the highway will create a network that allows each car to communicate with one another.
