Light snow has departed Chicago, but there could be some slick spots on untreated surfaces this morning.

Chicago will be breezy today and milder with highs in the mid 30s. Tonight will be mostly cloudy and seasonably chilly with lows in the low 20s.

Here's a look ahead to the weekend.

  • Friday: Tomorrow will be the warmest day of the year with highs ranging from the mid 30s south where a few inches of snow remain on the ground, to the low 40s far north. At night, a few light showers of rain or snow are likely east of I-55.
  • Saturday and Sunday: Saturday’s high will be whatever the temperature is at midnight. Falling temps are likely to bottom out on Sunday morning around 10 a.m. Temps go nowhere that day with wind chills below zero.
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day: The holiday begins with temperatures a few degrees below zero and wind chills pushing -20 degrees. Highs will be in the single digits.
  • Tuesday: Tuesday will likely be a bit colder. Expect a cold weather advisory to come out during this period. At least it will be partly to mostly sunny with no major winter storms in sight.
