Chicago weather heats back up today after morning shower
CHICAGO - Overnight showers have pooped out for the most part. A few light showers may continue through around 7 a.m., then the rest of the day will be rain-free with clearing skies.
The afternoon sun should easily push highs into the upper 80s, with a 90-degree mark here or there possible. It will be a bit cooler by the lake. Tonight will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy and humid with lows in the low 70s.
The Fourth of July could open with some showers especially over our southern counties. The rest of the day will be partly sunny warm and humid with highs in the mid 80s but cooler by the lake. Fireworks shows look to be in good shape with a potential round of showers and storms looking to hold off until after midnight.
Friday might start with a lingering shower, then skies break for some sun with highs in the lower 80s.
The weekend looks quite pleasant with highs in the lower 80s on Saturday and a few degrees warmer on Sunday. I’m still including a small chance of a shower or storm Sunday afternoon which might have some impact on the Cup Series NASCAR race.
