Chicago weather: Scattered rain, storms could impact your 4th of July plans

A stray shower is possible tonight, but most areas will stay dry under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Lows will fall into the upper 60s and low 70s.

Scattered showers and storms are possible on the Fourth of July, but it won't be a washout. The best chance of rain looks to be in the morning and midday hours, with storm chances returning again Thursday night into early Friday.

As far as fireworks shows go on Thursday evening, conditions should be favorable with most locations under partly cloudy skies. Highs on Thursday will climb into the mid to upper 80s.

The chance for scattered showers and storms lingers into Friday, but most areas should dry out in the afternoon with highs in the lower 80s.

Saturday will be dry and partly cloudy with highs in the lower 80s. Shower and storm chances return again Sunday afternoon and evening, with highs climbing into the mid 80s.
