Chicago weather: Snow to hit morning commute
CHICAGO - Snow will spread over Chicagoland early this morning, impacting the morning commute.
There will be perhaps a half inch or so in our northern counties, one to 2 inches in the metro, including the city, and up to 3 inches in our far southern counties.
Snow will be winding down by evening, but there could be some minor impact during the afternoon commute, especially in our southern expressway areas.
The Department of Streets and Sanitation has been out salting roads since last night, and you'll probably still see them out on the roads this morning as they monitor road conditions.
The salt trucks will focus on bigger streets with heavy traffic, such as DuSable Lake Shore Drive, bridges and overpasses.
Highs today might touch 30 degrees. Tomorrow will be a dry day with some sunshine and highs in the upper 20s to around 30 degrees.
Another minor system will slide to our north on Sunday, bringing perhaps a half inch of additional snowfall to the area, but no biggie. After that, another blast of Arctic air moves in for the early part of next week when highs, especially on Tuesday, may not get out of the teens.
