CHICAGO - It has been a mild Christmas with cloudy skies and highs in the upper 30s and low 40s. Occasional drizzle has been falling in the far south suburbs and into NW Indiana.
Tonight will be mild with lows only dropping a few degrees into the mid 30s. A few stray rain showers will be possible under cloudy skies. We'll also be watching for the development of fog tonight into early Thursday.
Tomorrow will be cloudy with light drizzle possible at times. A warming trend will begin on Thursday with highs soaring into the mid 40s.
Another system will move through the Chicago area on Friday, bringing rain and possibly a few heavier downpours. Despite a cloudy and rainy day, temperatures will climb to around 50 degrees.
The weekend ahead looks warm with highs in the low to mid 50s on Saturday and then upper 40s on Sunday. The clouds will linger through the weekend with only a small chance for a few stray showers Saturday and Sunday. Most of the weekend will likely end up dry.
The clouds should break apart a bit on Monday with skies becoming partly sunny. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 40s on Monday, and then we drop to around 40 on Tuesday. Rain and possibly a few snow showers are possible on Tuesday.
