3 people hospitalized after hit-and-run crash on Chicago's South Side

A 5-year-old boy and two women were hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on Chicago’s Far South Side late Sunday night.

A male driver in a gray Hyundai sedan was traveling westbound in the 1600 block of East 103rd Street around 11:28 p.m. when he failed to stop at a red light and hit a Honda van in the intersection, police said.

The male driver fled the scene on foot, police said, and is not in custody.

The 5-year-old boy was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition and the two women were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center also in good condition.
