Chicago crime: Man shot in hand during argument with woman

A 43-year-old man was shot in the hand early Wednesday morning following a verbal altercation with a woman in the South Shore neighborhood, according to police.

The incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. in the 2500 block of East 78th Street

Police said the suspect, described as a known female offender, produced a firearm during the argument and fired at the victim.

The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in fair condition.

No arrests have been made as of Wednesday morning. Area Two detectives are investigating.
