Crews on scene of deadly South Side crash

Emergency responders were called to the scene of a deadly crash early Friday morning on the South Side.

The crash happened just before 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Garfield and LaSalle. Initial investigation suggests the vehicle hit a pole.

When crews arrived on scene, they were forced to cut the car in half in order to get to the victim inside. Police confirmed at least one fatality.

Crews are still on scene investigating the crash. Motorists should expect delays in the area.
