Waukegan police ask public for help in deadly hit-and-run

CHICAGO - A 60-year-old man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash Saturday in north suburban Waukegan.

Police found the severely injured man lying on the road near Route 41 and Northpoint Boulevard. He was pronounced dead a short time later by the Waukegan Fire Department. The victim has not yet been identified by the Lake County Coroner's Office.

The vehicle involved in the crash fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

The crash was investigated by the Waukegan Police's Major Crash Unit and several other local agencies assisted at the scene.
