FEMA looks at damage from storms over July 4 weekend

Officials created a preliminary assessment after going door-to-door looking at damage from the severe storms that happened June 29-July 2 in the Chicago area.

CHICAGO - FEMA leaders are assessing the damage in the Chicago area from those storms over the July Fourth holiday weekend.

Over the past couple of days, officials have been going door-to-door checking out the damage.

Officials spoke at Morton College Wednesday. They said they need to see the damage before federal aid can be rendered to residents.
