Minneapolis road rage shooting victim: 'All I did was honk my horn'
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Upset, angry and scared, Kat asked us not to use her full name or show her face. She is too afraid that the men who shot her in a Minneapolis road rage incident will try to track her down.
“All I did was honk my horn and he tried to kill me,” she said. "I don't want anybody else to go through what I went through. “I hope they catch these guys because I can't sleep at night."
What we can show you are the bandages and the bullet holes. Kat was shot a total of 4 times. One bullet tore through her stomach and is difficult to look at. VIEW ALL VICTIM PHOTOS
Kat said she was heading to work down busy Hennepin Avenue. She had missed her turn off and honked at the Jeep Grand Cherokee that cut in front of her. Traffic cameras snapped several images of the suspect vehicle, described by some as beige, tan or gold. Kat vividly remembers 3 people inside.
"Three black men. One driving,” she said. “I did see a black handgun before he shot me. He had short dreads, light skin, skinny. You could tell he was a little tall."
The shooter was sitting in the front passenger seat. Before opening fire, Kat recalls him rolling down his window and demanding her to pull over.
"Five seconds later, I heard pop, pop, pop, pop,” she said. “I realized I had blood coming from my shoulder. I didn't realize I got shot in my arm and abdomen."

After the shooting, Kat was rushed to the emergency room at HCMC. She spent two nights in the hospital and was sent home with a couple of bullets still lodged in her body. A GoFundMe page has since been created for her.
"I have two bullets in me,” she said. “My arm and bicep, and one in my shoulder, 3 inches from my heart.”
