Navy Pier gearing up to host the party of the year

CHICAGO - Navy Pier is gearing up to host the party of the year!

Crews are getting the historic Aon Ballroom ready for this year’s "New Year on the Pier."

The event is going to feature premium catering, a full bar, live band, DJs, and more, as the city gets ready to ring in the new year.

Felicia Bolton, the Director of Communications and Public Relations for Navy Pier gave us a sneak preview of party options.

"VIP admission, there's regular admission. There are so many different ways to get your tickets. But whenever you do purchase your ticket, it starts around the $100 mark and works its way up. And your ticket includes not just admission but your food, and drink and the experience, and being a part of seeing the band and music. Now if you want something more exclusive, let's say you want the VIP balcony area, or the ultra premium bar package … then of course that's gonna be a little more expensive," Bolton said.

Navy Pier's celebration ends with a huge fireworks show at the stroke of midnight.

"We will be having those amazing fireworks again this year, so when the clock hits midnight, the fireworks will take off and it will just light up the entire sky," said Bolton.

Doors open at 8 p.m. and the party ends at 1 a.m.
