(FoxNews.com) - There’s no use crying over something that’s been spilled, but sometimes you may not have a choice.

A California highway was closed on Tuesday after an accident left it covered in onions, which must have stunk for everyone involved.

The California Highway Patrol told the Riverside Press-Enterprise that the truck hauling them was involved in an incident with two other vehicles on I-10 in in the city of Yucaipa. Stills captured from a Caltrans traffic camera show two loads of the vegetable dumped just in front of an entrance ramp.

The driver of the truck was treated at a nearby hospital for minor injuries, according to the police. It took road crews four and a half hours to clean up the mess and reopen the road just before the afternoon rush hour.
