Police: Child sex offender was living near Woodstock school
SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE - A registered child sex offender is behind bars after it was discovered she was living near a school in northwest suburban Woodstock.
Police received an anonymous tip about 3:30 p.m. Oct. 24 that a sex offender might unlawfully be living near Westwood Elementary School at 14124 W. South Street Rd., according to Woodstock police.
Detectives discovered that 32-year-old Christina E. Sutter was living at 14206 Westwood Trail, within 500 feet of the school property, police said.
Sutter was arrested at the home without incident, police said. She faces one felony count of sex offender unlawfully residing within 500 feet of school property.
According to the Illinois Sex Offender registry, Sutter was convicted of criminal sexual abuse of a victim who couldn’t consent in McHenry County. She was 26 at the time, and her victim was 16.
Sutter, of the 200 block of Winding Canyon Way in Algonquin, remains in the McHenry County Jail on a $1,000 bond, police said.
