Police: Md. 8th grader kisses girl on a dare; charged with assault

A Maryland boy is charged with assault after police say he kissed a fellow eighth grader at Pikesville Middle School in Baltimore County.

According to police, the 13-year-old boy told authorities that someone dared him to do it. Last week, a 14-year-old girl told a school official that the boy grabbed her by her shirt, held her near her stomach and open mouth kissed her with his tongue. The girl said it happened against her will.

The boy has been charged as a juvenile with second-degree assault. Police say he was never handcuffed or taken to the police station. The boy was released to his mother.

Police say the student could avoid going to court if they determine that he is eligible for the Juvenile Offenders in Need of Supervision Program.
