Teens steal car, leave it parked atop neighboring car
ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - A quick run back inside for a morning coffee ended with a stolen car and this seemingly unlikely scene Friday.
Police in St. Pete say it was just before 7 a.m. when the owner of this Camry started his car, then ran back inside his 53rd Street N home to grab a coffee. When he came back outside, the car was gone.
It didn’t take long to find the car, though. It was parked about a block away -- on top of an unoccupied Ford Mustang.
Three teens were spotted running from the scene. A police officer spotted them soon afterwards and arrested them. All three -- ages 15, 15, and 16 -- were charged with grand theft auto.
