Boy, 16, shot in Washington Park

CHICAGO - A teenage boy was shot and critically wounded Friday night in Washington Park.

The teen was inside the park around 7:45 p.m. when two people approached him and one of them started shooting in the 700 block of East 53rd Street, according to police.

The victim was struck multiple times throughout the body. He was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Area One detectives are investigating.
