SKOKIE (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A four-feet-long exotic snake was found near a street in north suburban Skokie Friday evening.

About 7 p.m., someone found the snake — possibly a boa constrictor — in the grass just off Parkside Avenue near Howard Street, according to Skokie police Sgt. Tim Gramins.

Animal control crews captured it without incident. No one was hurt.

“This is probably the first time in 20 years we’ve responded to a big snake on the loose up here,” Gramins said.

Anyone missing a large snake should call police at (847) 982-5900.
