Firefighter among 6 hurt in Logan Square fire
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - Six people, including a Chicago firefighter, were hurt in a fire Saturday morning in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
Crews were called at 7:55 a.m. to the fire at a 2 1/2-story home in the 2600 block of west Homer, according to Fire Media Affairs. The fire spread to two adjacent building but was extinguished by 9:19 a.m.
Two people were taken to Stroger Hospital with burns, two others were taken to Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center for smoke inhalation and a fifth person was taken to Norwegian American Hospital, fire officials said. Details about their ages, genders and conditions were not immediately available.
A firefighter was also taken to Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center in fair-to-serious condition for exhaustion, officials said. Crews remained at the scene searching for hot spots Saturday morning.
