Man dies after being shot 12 times in Bronzeville, suspect on the run: police

A 24-year-old man was gunned down Friday afternoon in Bronzeville, and authorities are still searching for the suspect.

The shooting occurred just before 3 p.m. in the 200 block of East 43rd Street, according to Chicago police.

The victim was standing on the sidewalk when a suspect in a white sedan fired multiple shots at him. The vehicle then fled north on Indiana Avenue.

The victim was struck 12 times in the head and body and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead, police said.

The victim's identity has not been released.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
