Jackpot rises to $7M after no winner in suburban 'Queen of Hearts' drawing
Hundreds of people flocked to the northwest suburbs Tuesday night, hoping to become millionaires.
There was a long line of people buying tickets for the “Queen of Hearts” raffle before the drawing.
More than a million tickets were sold by the VFW in anticipation of the drawing. However, the Queen of Hearts drawing will be rolling into another week because no one won Tuesday night.
Because no one won, the pot will grow from $6 million to $7 million dollars. The winner will get to take home $2.8 million dollars after taxes.
Organizers, though, say it will be the final drawing because of public safety concerns.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. for the next drawing to be held next Tuesday. Tickets run $5 for 6 tickets.
