Cook County residents vote to fund improvements for local forest preserves
COOK COUNTY, Ill. - Cook County residents voted Tuesday to pay more in taxes to fund improvements to the local forest preserves.
The referendum would add a .025 percent increase to those taxes.

It comes out to about $1.66 per month for the average homeowner.
More than 150 local organizations and companies spoke out in support of the referendum ahead of election day.
