2 young children found alone inside Near North Side apartment

CHICAGO - Two toddlers were found unsupervised in an apartment complex Wednesday night on Chicago's Near North Side.

There was a well-being check called in just before midnight to an apartment complex in the 500 block of West Oak Street, according to police.

Upon arrival, police found two small children, roughly 3 years old, who were unsupervised.

The children were taken to St. Mary's Hospital as a precaution, police said.

There were no reported injuries. Area Three detectives are investigating.
