Girl, 14, hit by vehicle while running to catch bus near Midway Airport
CHICAGO - A teenage girl was struck by a vehicle Monday while running to catch a bus near Midway International Airport.
The 14-year-old ran into traffic near the intersection of Cicero Avenue and 63rd Street in the Cleering neighborhood, according to Chicago police.
A driver with a green light struck the girl about 6:20 a.m., police said.
The girl was taken in serious condition to Comer Children’s Hospital, according to the Chicago Fire Department. Police said her condition had stabilized.
The driver, a 52-year-old man, was cited for striking a pedestrian in the roadway, police said.
